There are many different types of engine problems, but all can potentially cause engine damage that requires major repairs. If your engine seems to have a problem, it's important to visit your Chevy dealer asap to get it fixed. These are some of the possible problems with your engine that we can repair. more Your Engine Is Overheating An overheating engine is one of the most serious problems that can happen to your car. Your engine is normally very hot due to the heat produced by combustion. The heat, however, has to be kept in check to prevent damage to sensitive engine components. Your car has a cooling system that should keep the engine temperature under control at all times. If your engine temperature gauge is climbing, there must be a fault with the cooling system. It could be a blocked radiator, leaking coolant, or a damaged radiator fan. Overheating can swiftly and permanently damage your engine. If you see the temperature gauge climbing for no reason, call us, and we'll examine your engine to find and fix the problem ASAP. Clogged Air Filter Your engine requires large amounts of clean air for combustion. For combustion to work, fuel and air must mix in the intake manifold in a ratio of 14:1, air to fuel. Once the elements have mixed, they're injected into cylinders, where the mixture is compressed and ignited. A lack of air in the engine will affect combustion and can lead to misfiring and stalling. The air that enters your engine is drawn in through the air filter. This filter is positioned just inside the radiator grille. The filter traps dirt, dust, and other debris and ensures only clean air entered the engine. Over time, this filter will become clogged with dirt. A blocked filter restricts air in your engine and causes misfiring and other problems. We'll examine your filter and replace it if it's blocked. Starting Problems Your engine should start almost immediately when your press the button or turn the key. The battery will send a charge to the starter motor, which initiates the crank, and your engine will start. If the engine has difficulty starting or won't start at all, there's a problem. Our technicians will need to examine your car, and the three most likely causes are a failing battery, a worn alternator, or a broken starter motor. A way to narrow down the problem is to listen for a slight click when you try and start your engine. If you hear a click, your starter motor is working. Some beloved attractions here are the original Stiles jailhouse, the original Sante Fe Depot, a replica of the Santa Rita #1, and a baseball field from the movie "The Rookie." Josh Mitchell Park Right in the heart of our town lies Josh Mitchell Park. This park was built for and named after a local man. Mitchell was a Reagan County deputy who was killed in the line of duty and this park serves as his memorial. It boasts beautiful, peaceful, well-cared-for grounds with manicured lawns. There's plenty of space for a picnic for the whole family. Your younger children can have fun on the playground in the middle of the park. You can find this park on N. Montana Avenue extending through 9th Street and 10th Street. The park itself is enclosed by a fence and the entryway has an arch with the park name on it. There is also a memorial plaque on a white pillar. 3. The Ghost Town of Texon The town of Texon is located about ten miles west of Big Lake. This is a great destination if you're looking for something more exploratory with a fascinating backstory. Ghost towns are always fun, but this one is special because of the nature reclaim that has occurred there. The now empty streets are roamed by wildlife such as deer, roadrunners, and rabbits. This town was formed in 1923 when oil was discovered on the land by Big Lake Oil Co. By 1930 all the residencies and businesses were built and the population boomed to over one thousand. The city thrived from then until around 1940 when the oil access dried up. By 1962 the town was forced to sell its buildings and evacuate. Today, you can still see the foundations of some of the buildings and the streets they once sat on. These are just a few of our favorite places to visit.
